The first and only U.S. Senate debate scheduled so far between Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer and her Republican challenger Carly Fiorina is set for 7 to 8 pm today and will be broadcast live on KTTV Channel 11.


Thursday, September 2

Van Nuys--6 to 8:30 pm--Phone calling for the mid-term election.

Got an hour? Wherever you are in the Valley--
make calls to get out the vote in support of
Barbara Boxer, Jerry Brown and others!
We'll email you 50 names with phone numbers to call,
easy-to-follow instructions, and in less than an hour,
you can make a difference.
With just two months to go until the November 2 mid-term elections,
we need everyone to help out!

Valley for Obama Political Book Club

Come join us at
Valley for Obama's Political Book Club!

On the second Monday evening of the month, we meet and have dinner/coffee at the Aroma Cafe in Studio City and discuss the book of the month. Whether you've read the book or not, you're welcome to join us and the discussion. We meet at 6:30 pm for dinner in the back patio and then hold our discussion meeting from 7:00 to 8:00 pm.

This Book Club is being done with the support of both the Aroma Cafe--which is reserving space in its back patio for our meetings--and the independent bookstore inside the Aroma Cafe, called Portrait of a Bookstore--which is offering 20% discounts on club books purchased there.
